Information about traveling to Costa Rica

Our local currency is colon, $1 is equivalent to a 550 colones. Our recommendation is that you use both. There is only 2 ATM’s in town so we would recommend you to bring a small amount of cash with you beforehand.

Travel insurance is recommended.

Temperature is in average 25°C (77 °F) most year round, so we recommend you to travel light! Wetsuit is not needed, bring comfortable surfing clothes (shorts/bikinis), lots of sunblock, bug spray, tennis shoes for the adventure tours and sandals for the rest of the time.

Costa Ricans are kind, friendly and helpful people. The motto of the country is “Pura Vida” which means pure life and it’s the first Spanish word that you must learn since it means almost everything! Pura Vida is a non-stress lifestyle but also a “thank you”, “how are you”, “hello” and “goodbye”.

Debbie is looking forward to welcome you in her Women Surf Camp in Costa Rica!

Please don’t be shy, if you have any questions or special request, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us!
